About the Project

The challenge

Welcome to the forefront of digital empowerment and inclusivity. In an era dominated by rapid digitization, it’s imperative to acknowledge and address the pitfalls that often accompany this trend: sketchy content, unverified information, and limited accessibility. At the heart of this transformation, we recognize the undeniable need to ensure that individuals with disabilities are not left behind. They too deserve equal access to the digital realm, encompassing crucial aspects of life such as work, social interactions, and communication. This is where SKILLS steps in.

Our mission is clear: to enhance e-learning practices by equipping professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to support individuals with disabilities in their journey towards autonomy and independent living. Amidst the pandemic’s upheaval, online education and vocational training have emerged as essential lifelines, particularly for marginalized groups like those with intellectual disabilities. Yet, the digital landscape presents both opportunities and challenges. Social distancing measures and the digital divide can impede the path to empowerment.

Without proper guidance, the surge in technology usage during confinement risks exploitation and misuse. SKILLS is poised to confront these issues head-on, pioneering innovative approaches to e-learning that prioritize inclusivity, gender equality, and accessibility. Through collaborative efforts and leveraging European frameworks on digital competencies, we aim to revolutionize vocational education and training, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital age.

Join us as we embark on this transformative journey towards a more inclusive and digitally empowered future.
